Hey, thanks for tuning in to another Partner Interview at EcomBalance. At EcomBalance, we’re all about creating win-win partnerships where we are able to grow with other companies in the eCommerce space.

 

In this exclusive interview, we interview Steven Pope from My Amazon Guy, A 200+ client full service Amazon Agency in Atlanta, Georgia.

Steven is the founder of My Amazon Guy, a marketing agency with 250+ brands managed. Steven started his career as a TV reporter in Idaho, then was an eCommerce Director for 10 years for brands ranging from Gold & Silver Coins to Women’s Plus Size Clothing. Steven then created My Amazon Guy, a 300+ employee agency that focuses on growing traffic and sales on Amazon.  Steven not only owns MAG but also My Refund Guy, 2 Amazon Brands: Momstir & Age of Sage, and a Holster company HOLSTIT. Steven has more than 900 tutorial videos on YouTube showing how to handle ANY problem faced on Amazon and has interviewed every major player in the Amazon space on his podcast.

Connor: Hey Steven, thanks for taking the time to chat with us here. We love getting to know our partners better so that our community can benefit from what our partners are offering and doing in the industry. To get started, can you give us a high level overview of My Amazon Guy and how it got started? 

 

Steven: I worked on the corporate side for a decade, four failed startups later I decided I was better off working for myself. I saw massive demand in the Amazon Seller Support space because Amazon doesn’t care about sellers. I started an agency and within 3 months had 40k MRR. The rest is history. Today we’re 300 employee strong, 250 brands managed, and we grow sales while giving peace of mind that everything is taken care of on an Amazon account: PPC, SEO, Design, and Catalog Merchandising. 

 

Connor: That’s awesome! Can you dive a bit more into the products and services that you offer to help grow sales faster? I’m sure our audience would love to know exactly what problems you could solve for them.

Connor: What made you decide to get involved in the Amazon agency space? What’s your starting eCommerce story? From what we’ve found, a lot of business owners in the space have fun stories of how they first started…

Connor: Love it! Talking more about the eCommerce industry, where do you see it going in the next 1-2 years? Any unique predictions that you could share? 

 

Steven: Ecommerce and Amazon will continue to grow. Amazon will beat Shopify. Amazon will vertically integrate and control half the economy.

 

Connor: Giving you an open mic for a minute, what is something you’d want the EcomBalance audience to hear?

 

Steven: 87% of people think the economy is fair/poor. It’s still possible to grow your sales right now despite that. Here’s an account we 10x’d in 18 weeks. This account started at 19k a month during the Christmas rush and is now doing close to 250k a month under My Amazon Guy. Every single metric improved, just textbook good results.

 

Connor: Changing gears a little bit…When it comes to bookkeeping and accounting, what do you think the biggest pain points for business owners are? Feel free to speak from personal experience as well. 

 

Steven: Not knowing who to trust to be accurate and streamline things.
