Connor: Hey Steven, thanks for taking the time to chat with us here. We love getting to know our partners better so that our community can benefit from what our partners are offering and doing in the industry. To get started, can you give us a high level overview of My Amazon Guy and how it got started?

Steven: I worked on the corporate side for a decade, four failed startups later I decided I was better off working for myself. I saw massive demand in the Amazon Seller Support space because Amazon doesn’t care about sellers. I started an agency and within 3 months had 40k MRR. The rest is history. Today we’re 300 employee strong, 250 brands managed, and we grow sales while giving peace of mind that everything is taken care of on an Amazon account: PPC, SEO, Design, and Catalog Merchandising.

Connor: That’s awesome! Can you dive a bit more into the products and services that you offer to help grow sales faster? I’m sure our audience would love to know exactly what problems you could solve for them.

Steven: A 250+ client full service Amazon Agency in Atlanta, Georgia. We growth hack sales through traffic and conversion improvements. PPC, SEO, Design, Catalog Merchandising, and more all in house. My Amazon Guy gives away all their trade secrets with more than 1000 video tutorials. https://youtube.com/myamazonguy

My Amazon Guy is an Amazon Advertising Sponsored Ads Accredited agency. We are always ahead of the game with new Amazon Advertising updates and features, implementing new ad types for our clients sometimes before they are even announced by Amazon.

Our PPC management includes a series of techniques combined with advanced macros to optimize current advertising efforts. We update your advertising faster, more frequently, and more holistically. We even transparently store bid adjustments for your viewing pleasure at any time.

Connor: Jumping off of that…if there was one problem you’d say that My Amazon Guy solves best for your clients, what would it be? Why?

Steven: Everyone says they do Amazon SEO but it’s kind of like teenage sex. Everyone says they are doing it but nobody really is. Not correctly anyway. My Amazon Guy has years of knowledge and experience behind us regarding to keyword research with Amazon. We know all the ins and outs when it comes to selecting our choice of keywords for Amazon product listings. Our top-of-class 3-phase SEO plan can help you get your products ranked on the first page faster.

Simply put, A+ content indexes, the back end search term field uses 250 bytes, and there’s a strike zone of keywords in ranks 20-50 that are often ignored.

Connor: As the company continues to grow over the next year, what are your plans for expansion? Any new products or offerings or enhancements to your current products?

Steven: We are launching dozens of courses at MAG-School.com to help Amazon sellers and workers gain a better understanding of how to manage the platform. In the first 2 weeks of launching this more than 2,500 people signed up. For example, everything you need to know about design on Amazon buttoned up in a course for $10. MAG School has launched our Design Course! This is specifically built for the non artists of the 🌎

Learn about A+ content, brand stores, brand modules, what goes into a good image stack and get a certificate you’re Amazon Design competent!

Connor: And how specifically would you say that My Amazon Guy and your team is different from other full service management agencies in the industry?

Steven: We have more experts actually do work and grow sales on the account.

Connor: What made you decide to get involved in the Amazon agency space? What’s your starting eCommerce story? From what we’ve found, a lot of business owners in the space have fun stories of how they first started…

Steven:  I had a great journey into Amazon. The first thing I ever sold online was a Magic: The Gathering Sliver Queen from the Stronghold edition. I talk about my failings in this video: When You Wanted What You Currently Have

01:14 REMEMBER WHEN YOU WANTED WHAT YOU CURRENTLY HAVE

01:36 How did “Steven Pope” start

05:06 “No matter what you’re going through, you can get through this.”

06:12 Going back to school to take an MBA

06:47 Failing four start-ups

08:07 Take failure and invigorate self, and move forward

12:57 Go take action whatever it might be

Connor: Love it! Talking more about the eCommerce industry, where do you see it going in the next 1-2 years? Any unique predictions that you could share?

Steven: Ecommerce and Amazon will continue to grow. Amazon will beat Shopify. Amazon will vertically integrate and control half the economy.

Connor: Giving you an open mic for a minute, what is something you’d want the EcomBalance audience to hear?

Steven: 87% of people think the economy is fair/poor. It’s still possible to grow your sales right now despite that. Here’s an account we 10x’d in 18 weeks. This account started at 19k a month during the Christmas rush and is now doing close to 250k a month under My Amazon Guy. Every single metric improved, just textbook good results.

Connor: Changing gears a little bit…When it comes to bookkeeping and accounting, what do you think the biggest pain points for business owners are? Feel free to speak from personal experience as well.

Steven: Not knowing who to trust to be accurate and streamline things.

Connor: As we close this out, I just have one more question. Where is the best place to find and follow you and the company online? Also, if you have one, is there any special offer that you’ll be offering to the community today?

Steven: http://myamazonguy.com/ and https://youtube.com/myamazonguy/ where we have 1000 videos on how to sell on Amazon. Anyone who wants a free personalized video review of one of their Amazon listings and what can be done to improve it please checkout https://myamazonguy.com/asin
