Hey, thanks for tuning in to another Partner Interview at EcomBalance. At EcomBalance, we’re all about creating win-win partnerships where we are able to grow with other companies in the ecommerce space.

In this exclusive interview, we talk to Aaron Cordova from Samurai Seller.

Aaron Cordovez is in the top 100 sellers on all of Amazon, selling $75 million a year. While working a 9-5 as a coder in 2015, he started Amazon as a side hustle to try and earn his family an extra $500-$1000 a month.

In two years’ time, he was making over 6-figures a month from Amazon and today has sold over $200 million worth of products on the internet.

He has spoken in front of tens of thousands of people across the world and is on a mission to empower people to a life of entrepreneurship and success.

Connor: Hey Aaron, thanks for taking the time to chat with us here. We love getting to know our partners better so that our community can benefit from what our partners are offering and doing in the industry. To get started, can you give us a high level overview of Samurai Seller and how it got started?

Aaron: Samurai Seller was a solution to a poor hiring decision. One of our first hires in our private label company was an Ads Expert, because so much of Amazon relies on good advertising, that person we thought did amazing for the first few weeks because sales were going up, but then, about 2 months in, all of our profit was gone. The problems we were solving were problems a computer could solve, and we did not need a person, that’s when Samurai Seller was born.

Connor: That’s awesome! Can you dive a bit more into the products and services you offer for Amazon PPC automation? I’m sure our audience would love to know exactly what problems you could solve for them.

Aaron: Our PPC Automation service is called Automator, it’s been built after years of experience on Amazon and decades of programming experience. We solve one thing and one thing well, BIDS. You want to get the most profitable and most amount of sales for your product, and we manage the bids to make that happen. It’s very simple: you give us your budget for ads, our software will take your existing ad structure, and it adjusts bids to get you most sales.

Connor: Jumping off of that…if there was one problem you’d say that Samurai Seller solves best for your clients, what would it be? Why?

Aaron: Keeping full visibility of your ads, what they are doing, and thus, insight of what to adjust. Every single change that we do automatically is recorded as to why and you can see that. We then provide a ton of suggestions for keywords and negative keywords and such that you can review and approve before them ever hitting your account (this is semi-automated).

Connor: As the company continues to grow over the next year, what are your plans for expansion? Any new products, services, or enhancements to your current products?

Aaron: We are honing in on all of Amazon’s ads changes and keeping up with all the changes to keep the absolute best suggestions possible for bidding on your account, despite all of the changes that occur on Amazon, seemingly every single month.

Connor: And how specifically would you say that Samurai Seller and your team is different from other similar businesses in the industry?

Aaron: Many in this Amazon Ads software industry are not sellers. We are sellers and created the tool for what sellers want to see and want to have happen on their accounts. One thing that always bothered me about other tools is that they never told you WHY a certain bid was changed or why they would change placements, or add keywords or remove them. Here we give all of the insight so you can review it and allow for maximum transparency.

Connor: What made you decide to get involved in the SaaS space? What’s your starting eCommerce story? From what we’ve found, a lot of business owners in the same space have fun stories of how they first started…

Aaron: I got involved in the SaaS space because we needed it to grow our Amazon company. I had been a programmer before selling on Amazon and knew some of the most intellegent minds in the space so I knew I could create something fantastic for sellers. I don’t know of many Amazon sellers who are also programmers, and even further that are taking a crack at Amazon software.

Connor: Love it! Talking more about the eCommerce industry, where do you see it going in the next 1-2 years? Any unique predictions that you could share?

Aaron: I see that we will listen to all of our sellers and train the best AI in the industry for advertising on Amazon. I predict that tools that are not sophisticated and do not use Artificial Intelligence will be losing ground over time, and AI tools, particularly if showing how the AI works, will come out on top.

Connor: Giving you an open mic for a minute, what is something you’d want the EcomBalance audience to hear?

Aaron: Go big. Amazon has a huge audience and lots of opportunity. You never know how big you can go if you aren’t shooting really high. A team is utterly vital to that, if you can have a smart team and has directions from you, and you have your ads automated, you can work on HUGE new products that blow everyone else away.

Connor: Changing gears a little bit…When it comes to bookkeeping and accounting, what do you think the biggest pain points for business owners are? Feel free to speak from personal experience as well.

Aaron: The biggest pain points on accounting is not having things MATCH. Discrepancies in accounting or your books are always a pain in the butt, no one wants that. You need your Profit and Loss statement every single month and FAST and reliable to make your business decisions.

Connor: As we close this out, I just have one more question. Where is the best place to find and follow you and the company online? Also, if you have one, is there any special offer that you’ll be offering to the community today?

Aaron: My website aaroncordovez.com is the best place to connect with me and sign up for my email list, also follow me on LinkedIn.
